Founded in 1950, Scotsman Industries first began manufacturing a variety of products including lanterns, chests, heaters, and a single model commercial-sized ice machine. By 1960 the company’s focus had shifted to solely producing ice machines, still a relatively new market.
Over sixty-years later Scotsman Industries is one of the largest ice-machine manufacturers in the world. Because of the company’s dedication to energy efficiency, Scotsman Industries was awarded the 2011 Award for Energy-Efficient Product Design by Energy Star. Also, in 2010 the company earned the award for Overall Best in Class by Foodservice Equipment & Supplies magazine.
